Black Buildup exists to confront and close long-standing gaps in funding access, leadership pathways, organizational capacity, and decision-making spaces that continue to limit Black and racialized communities. Our work goes beyond short-term interventions. We build durable systems—strengthening people, organizations, and community institutions so they can lead, influence, and thrive within the economic, social, and political environments that shape their futures.

Born from grassroots advocacy, Black Buildup has evolved into a trusted nonprofit institution working at the intersection of policy, partnership, and community-led development.
